An independent ladies clothing boutique Pookie Womenswear was founded in November 2006 by Rose Horsfield, at the popular tourist destination of Pot House Hamlet in Silkstone near Barnsley. The shop name ‘Pookie’ was an endearing nickname given to Rose by her family, who still call her Pookie to this day. Pookie is located in The Old Glassworks, which was built by her father Tom Horsfield.
